AOA to Raise China Relief Funds

Willoughby, OH, May 27, 2008- Andrews Osborne Academy students have organized a week of fundraising to aid relief efforts for those affected by the recent disasters in China. Students at the day and boarding school have a personal connection to China as the school has 15 students enrolled this year from the country. Members of several of the school’s clubs, including the International Club, have spearheaded efforts to raise awareness and funds with activities such as a dress-down day and sales of items from China donated by the Chinese students at the school. In addition, the Andrews Osborne Academy Parent’s Association has agreed to match any funds raised by the students, faculty and staff during the all-school dress-down day on Wednesday.

The AOA school community has a history of philanthropic efforts as the school community raised over $135,000 for the American Red Cross after the September 11 attacks with the design and sale of a memorial t-shirt. Andrews Osborne Academy, located at 38588 Mentor Avenue in Willoughby, serves students from age 3 to grade 12 in a coeducational college preparatory day and boarding school environment. For more information or to contribute to the school’s fundraising efforts, please call 440-942-3606 or email Admissions@AndrewsOsborne.org.
