Financial Assistance/Scholarship Information
Financial Aid Application Process
Each family must submit a completed Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) organization. This form may be completed online via the SSS website at https://sss.ets.org. If you would like to request that a paper copy of the PFS be mailed to you, please contact the Office of Admission at (800) 753-4683. (NOTE: the SSS Code No. for ANDREWS OSBORNE ACADEMY = 1292.) This form considers such factors as gross taxable and non-taxable income, assets, liabilities, family size, and allowances for taxes and basic necessities. The contribution amount determined by SSS is a general recommendation and does not take into account individual school policies.
In addition, copies of the following forms must be sent to the Business Office: the parents’ and students’ 2007 Federal Income Tax Form 1040 including all schedules and attachments (e.g Schedule A, Schedule C, etc.) and W-2/1099 forms. If all of these forms are not received, awards will not be made. If the paper PFS is mailed to SSS (i.e. not submitted on-line), it is recommended that a copy also be mailed to the Office of Admission.
It is expected that a family applying for aid from AOA will apply for aid from all tuition-charging institutions their other children may be attending and this will be reflected on the PFS. Adjustments may be made and/or income imputed for parents who: voluntarily reduce their income (i.e. voluntarily terminating employment or being underemployed, returning to school, starting a business); are non-working, unless it can be documented they are disabled or otherwise unable to work; or fail to supply information requested. To ensure a fair and accurate determination of financial need, all parents/guardians must file all of the necessary forms and comply fully with all of the guidelines and requirements of the aid process.
Scholarships
Andrews Osborne Academy, through the generosity of several constituents and annual giving, is able to offer scholarship opportunities to both new and returning students. New students applying for scholarships and financial aid must first complete all admission requirements and receive notice of Admission to AOA before an award will be given. Scholarships are listed below and downloadable application forms will be available in December 2008. Questions regarding scholarship eligibility and the application process should be directed to the Office of Admission at (800) 753-4683 or Admissions@AndrewsOsborne.org.
